| With the spectre of drought looming large and many
regions in several states already reeling under water scarcity and its aftermath, Prime
Minister A B Vajpayee on Sunday sought the people's help to tide over the situation. With the monsoons in most parts months away and more than five crore people
affected by lack of water, food and fodder for cattle, the PM in a nationally televised
address acknowledged the government's helplessness and appealed to the people for
contributions, ``no matter how small the amount'', to the PM's National Relief Fund. |
